We are a proud woman-owned and founded business. Julie Chuharski started our recruiting agency in 2001 on the premise that executive search can be done with honesty, integrity and a higher level of professionalism.

We take a long-term approach to our clients’ and candidates’ needs.  We ask a lot of questions, we listen carefully to our clients’ needs, and we do the heavy-lifting in finding, qualifying and placing candidates that have the best experience and cultural fit.

Finding the right match between a client and candidate changes lives and helps companies succeed. Julie loves the challenge of finding just the right person that will make a difference, maybe “the” difference in a culture, strategy and bottom line of our clients.

After serving as a marketing executive in the wine and spirits industry, Julie founded Wine & Spirits Recruiting in 2001. In the close to two decades since then, Julie has guided her team through hundreds of high-level executive searches across all functional categories – general management, marketing, sales, operations, HR, finance, ecommerce, winemaking and international.

From some of the world’s largest companies to startups, Julie has leveraged her extensive expertise and deep connections to help clients and candidates all over the globe. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Diego State University, Julie holds an MBA from UCLA.

John brings the extra-mile approach to his recruiting clients – sourcing and presenting only the most qualified candidates so clients can focus on their business. John has worked in executive recruiting as well as held senior roles in finance, business development, operations and marketing for large corporations, family-businesses, marketing/digital agencies and online start-ups. He has hired scores of people cross-functionally both as a hiring manager and recruiter, and knows how important the right hire can be for the success of a client’s business. John has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from UCLA.

Our Proven Approach

Our goal is to find the best candidate for the position and our client’s culture. We handle each search with honesty, integrity, expediency. A major key to our success is our large referral network in the wine, spirits, beer and food industries. We often recruit great candidates who were not looking for a new opportunity before we contacted them.

We Do the Heavy Lifting

We carefully manage every aspect of the search process.

  • We interview the hiring team to understand the key qualifications and expectations for the position, as well as they key factors that would make the position an attractive opportunity for candidates
  • We define a target list of key candidates to actively contact from our database, referral network and target companies.
  • We actively contact, speak to and thoroughly screen qualified and interested candidates, for both experiential and cultural fit.
  • We provide a short list of the best candidates, along with an assessment of their qualifications for the role.
  • We coordinate interview scheduling and communications between the client and candidates.
  • We conduct reference checks on the selected finalists, and provide a written reference report.
  • We help negotiate the offer to a successful close and help finalize remaining details for your new hire to start
